Best papers awards

The Program Committee will award best papers in academic/ industrial and student categories. A prize of 2.000€ will be awarded to the best academic/industrial paper and a prize of 1.000€ to the best student paper.
Each prize will be associated with a paper (whatever the number of its authors). The winners’ announcement will take place at the "conference farewell ceremony" on December 6, 2013.

These awards are sponsored by the French association C.E.S.A.M.E.S. (Center of Excellence on Systems, Architecture, Management, Economy & Strategy) that has created the conference CSD&M with the support of the Dassault Aviation - DCNS - DGA - Thales - Ecole Polytechnique - ENSTA Paritech - Telecom ParisTech Chair "Engineering of Complex Systems" and its partners. C.E.S.A.M.E.S.’ mission is to disseminate systems architecture methods and tools to key industrialists in order for them to better control the risks and speed of their technological project.

Evaluation & Acceptance Processes

Two forms of submissions are available: scientific or industrial.

All papers have to be submitted through our electronic submission system "EasyChair" by precising if this is an academic or an industrial submission. The program committee reserves the right to redirect presentations towards the appropriate track if needed. Each submission will be subject to two referee reports under the responsability of two different members of the program committee.

Contributions will be accepted either for a 30-minute talk or for a poster session. One full day of the conference CSD&M 2013 will be dedicated to this occasion.

Submission Process (format needed for April 21, 2013 May 5, 2013)

  • Scientific submissions (scientific track)

Scientific contributions should present innovative methodological, technical or scientific results. These consist in a PDF (word or latex) of 12 pages maximum. Scientific contributions can be accepted either for a 30-minute talk or for a poster session.

The scientific contributions accepted for a 30-minute presentation will be included in the Springer proceedings book (except the opposite notice of the authors). At this stage, the document must necessarily be re-submitted according to specific SpringerVerlag style (if not done yet), which means a zip with a 12-page Latex file and images apart or a 12-page Word file including images (see more details here below).

  • Industrial submissions (industrial track)

The aim of industrial contributions is to present good practices, feedbacks and case studies. An industrial submission consists in a 12-page (maximum) Latex or Word in PDF or in a 15-slide (maximum) PowerPoint presentation in PDF. Industrial contributions can be accepted either for a 30-minute talk or for a poster session.

Accepted industrial submissions in Powerpoint will be put at the disposal on the conference website and on a memory stick given to all participants, but they will not be part of the Springer Verlag proceedings, unless that the concerned author want his paper to be published and provide a 12-page Word or Latex version according to the Springer Verlag style. The refereeing of such articles will be under the responsibility of the two program committee co-chairs, and will take place during the end of the selection process. (see details in the "Submission" part here below).

  • Paper Pre-Submission: Optional - April 7, 2013

Authors are invited to participate (on a voluntary basis) in a pre-submission scheme before April 7, 2013. They can submit their names & affiliations with the topics, keywords & abstract of the contribution they intend to submit at a later stage. Authors can indicate among the members of Program Committee, the most adequat referee if any (for optimizing evaluation management). Authors who only want to present a poster (not a talk) can precise this specificity at this stage.

  • Paper Submission Deadline - April 21, 2013 May 5, 2013

All authors must submit their papers in PDF format through our electronic submission system before May 5, 2013. No other submission process will be accepted. They can, as mentionned previously, submit their paper as a 12-page word or latex in PDF or in a 15-slide powerpoint in PDF. The maximum number of pages has to be respected.

Follow this link to access the papers submission system.

Please arrange your paper in about 12 pages and re-submit it under the same number compulsorily in LateX or Word format (no PDF accepted!). To help you to realize the final version of your paper, the Manuscript Guidelines of Springer Verlag could be found here below:
