Mr Bantegnie founded Esterel Technologies in the fall of 1999 and has since then been its President & CEO.
He is also in addition since August 2012 a Vice-President of ANSYS, Inc., and head of its “Embedded Systems” Business Unit, since the integration of Esterel Technologies within the ANSYS Group as a wholly owned subsidiary.
Esterel Technologies is the worldwide leading provider for mission and safety-critical embedded software application development tools.
Mr. Bantegnie was previously President and CEO of Simulog, a high-tech software and services company of 180-people specialized in the high-tech industries (telecoms, aerospace, defense and automotive) for simulation, and product data management, from 1998 to 2000.
Between 1996 and 1998, as Director General, he created and directed DYADE, a Research and Development joint venture, formed between the Bull group and INRIA (the French National Research Institute in Computer Science). DYADE originated the creation of 5 start up companies in the field of Web technologies and IT security, that are all in business today, including large companies such as KELKOO and Trusted Logic.
Between 1992 and 1996, Mr. Bantegnie was Deputy Director at the French Ministry of Industry and Telecommunications, responsible for R&D policy in the field of IT security, computer science and telecommunications.
Between 1988 and 1992, he was Director of Production of France Telecom for the Western Paris directorate (Direction Opérationnelle des Yvelines).
Eric Bantegnie graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1985 and Ecole des Mines de Paris in 1988. He is Engineer in Chief in Telecommunications.
